God the Son, Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus, the son, is coequal, consubstantiaI (i.e. having the same substance, nature, or essence) and coeternal with the Father. We believe in His eternal preexistence, incarnation, virgin birth, and His sinless life. We believe in the sufficiency of His death on the cross as an actual atonement for sin, in His bodily resurrection from the dead which confirmed His deity and gave proof that God the Father accepted the atoning work of God the Son on the cross. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, two distinct natures in one person, each nature full and complete, and each nature remaining distinct. We believe that He is the only mediator between God and man, and that He alone is the head of the church. We believe in His ceaseless intercession for His people, His preÂtribulational return in the air to catch away His bride, the church, and His return to earth to set up His millennial kingdom after the tribulation period.
