Man

We believe that Adam was an historical figure created by a special act of God, in the image and after the likeness of God. Man's purpose was to glorify God and enjoy God's fellowship. Man chose by his own free will and through Satan's temptation to rebel against God and thus fell from his holy and happy estate. All mankind fell with him. All people since Adam have been born sinners (Jesus Christ being the only exception) and are thus under the curse of sin and death. Sin has affected every part of man. By nature we lack the holiness required by God. Man is hostile to God and loves darkness and hates the light and is justly condemned under God's wrath and is without excuse or defense.
